What We Know So Far
Sky & Telescope has been running eclipse cruises for decades and they're among the most respected in the astronomy community. Their 2028 offering follows the eclipse path along Australia's Kimberley coast, where totality exceeds 5 minutes — significantly longer than the 3 minutes 49 seconds in Sydney.
The key advantage of a cruise is weather mobility: if clouds threaten your viewing location, the ship can reposition along the eclipse path to find clear skies. This is genuine insurance that no land-based tour can match. The Kimberley coast is also one of Australia's most spectacular and remote landscapes.
Pricing and full details have not been publicly released yet. We'll update this listing when Sky & Telescope publishes cabin categories and rates. Note that this is not a Sydney-based viewing experience — you'll be at sea off the Kimberley coast for the eclipse itself, with Sydney sightseeing as a separate component of the trip.
